Dr Derrick Phillips is a consultant dermatologist specialising in general skin problems (acne, rosacea, eczema, other rashes), skin cancer and skin surgery. His NHS practice is at the world-renowned Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he is the clinical lead for psoriasis.

About Derrick

Dr Phillips studied medicine at University College London Medical School, graduating with a double merit and achieving First class honours in his Medical Sciences with Physics and Bioengineering degree. He completed his general medical training in London and New South Wales, Australia, before embarking on specialist Dermatology training in Liverpool.

Dr Phillips has an interest in clinical research and is currently a principal investigator for several clinical trials, including a study of the treatment of hormonal acne. He also holds an honorary appointment at Imperial College London as a clinical teacher. Dr Phillips has published in international journals and is a past recipient of the prestigious St John’s Institute of Dermatology registrar prize.

Dr Phillips holds memberships with the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), British Society for Medical Dermatology (BSMD), British Society for Dermatological Surgery, North of England Dermatology society (NEDS), St John’s Dermatology society and the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). He is a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation and regularly features in national newspapers and online magazines.
