About Roberta
Roberta has been working in the NHS over the last ten years, developing a special interest in the clinical psychology of people with physical health diagnoses, such as diabetes.
Following completion of an MSc in Applied Psychological Research with a health focus on weight management in diabetes, she was awarded the Prize for Outstanding Achievement. From there, she went on to complete her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and was given the Board of Examiners Commendation Award. A year after qualifying as a HCPC Registered Practitioner, she was awarded the Best Newcomer Excellence Award by the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies.
Over the last five years, Roberta has been working across children’s and adult’s NHS teams supporting the development and implementation of psychological approaches to physical health diagnoses, both through joint clinics with medical teams, and individual or family therapy. She has gained extensive experience in working with people who report a range of psychological difficulties alongside type 1 and type 2 diabetes, such as anxiety and depression, as well as transdiagnostic difficulties such as low self-esteem, low confidence, and burnout from living with a long term health condition.
