Dr Laura Wood is a GMC-registered Private GP at Mews Medical, with clinics in Kensington and Marylebone, London.

She has over 20 years medical experience and a particular focus on women’s health, menopause care, paediatrics, and mental wellbeing, offering personalised, unhurried consultations for individuals and families.

Originally from London, Dr Wood qualified in 2004 from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine and completed her General Practice training in London. She is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and holds the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG) and the Diploma of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH).

Menopause & women’s health expertise

Before training as a GP, Dr Laura Wood worked in hospital Obstetrics and Gynaecology, forming the foundation of her expertise in women’s health. She also holds the British Menopause Society (BMS) Management of Menopause qualification and is highly experienced in supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife hormonal change.

Her approach combines evidence-based medicine with a practical understanding of the physical, psychological, and lifestyle challenges women face during hormonal transitions.

Family medicine & mental health expertise

Dr Laura Wood has extensive experience in family medicine, having cared for whole families across multiple generations throughout her career. This continuity of care has given her a deep understanding of family dynamics and how emotional wellbeing, stress, and mental health concerns can affect individuals differently within the same household. 

Her paediatric experience allows her to assess and support children’s health and development in the context of their family and environment, working closely with parents to provide clear, practical guidance and timely reassurance.

She has a particular interest in mental health, supporting adults and young people with anxiety, low mood, stress-related symptoms, burnout, and sleep disturbance. Her approach is thoughtful and practical, recognising the close relationship between mental and physical health and enabling patients to feel heard, supported, and appropriately guided at every stage of life.

Alongside her clinical practice at Mews Medical, Dr Laura Wood is an accredited transformative coach, supporting patients and clients navigating complex personal or professional challenges.

She is the creator of the Transform & Thrive menopause programme, where she integrates medical expertise with coaching to help women reduce symptoms of hormonal imbalance, optimise sleep and energy, and build sustainable habits for long-term health.
