        About Mr Marcus Posner

Mr Posner is a London-trained ophthalmologist, specialising in both adult and paediatric ocular conditions. He completed his degree at Imperial College before rotating through teaching hospitals, including the world-famous Moorfields Eye Hospital where he completed a fellowship in paediatric and neuro-ophthalmology and strabismus (squint).

His paediatric practice encompasses the treatment of childhood squint, amblyopia (lazy eye) and refractive error (the need for glasses) but also a wide variety of developmental and congenital conditions.

His adult practice includes the surgical management of cataract and lens replacement as well as adult squint surgery.

He commonly manages patients with neuro-visual disorders, such as those with optic neuritis, brain tumours and stroke, as well as common conditions such as glaucoma, uveitis and macular degeneration.

Mr Posner’s experience as a former consultant in one of Europe’s busiest eye emergency units at Moorfields and his current eye emergency leadership role in his NHS trust ensures that he is consistently up-to-date with latest in ophthalmic practice.

He is a surgical trainer and regional undergraduate education lead for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, taking an active role in the clinical and surgical education of regional trainees.

His research interests include the management of myopia (short-sightedness) in children, childhood eye tumours and the management of ocular conditions in sub-Saharan Africa.
