Dr Dipesh Patel is elected as Chairman of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists

London Medical is proud to announce that Dr Dipesh Patel has been elected unopposed as the new Chairman of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD). For the last three years, Dr Patel has been an active member of the board’s executive team and his new role within the committee begins on 1st July. 

The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists is a national organisation of Consultant Physicians in Britain who specialise in Diabetes Mellitus. Most are also Acute General Physicians, and many are also Specialists in Endocrinology and Lipid Metabolism. ABCD was established in 1997 with the principal objective of ensuring high-quality care for all UK diabetes patients, ABCD is essentially a professional organisation committed to the preservation and support of diabetes specialist care services.

Dr Patel is a consultant physician in diabetes and endocrinology at London Medical. His clinical practice includes general endocrinology and diabetes management. His academic interests include lipid transport, cardiovascular disease and renal disease in type 2 diabetes. In addition, to this and his new role within the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, he is an undergraduate site lead teacher and principal investigator in clinical trial work.
