      About Mr Addison

      After excelling at Cambridge University, Mr Addison completed his ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital, where he was appointed as a full-time substantive consultant in 2012. He has led both the Moorfields retinal vein occlusion service and the steroid implant service since their inceptions in 2012. Both provide world-class patient centred care. They lead the world in terms of how to manage these patients and sharing this through numerous international presentations, publications and the training a generation of Consultants across the world. By running complex Uveitis and Medical Retina clinics at Moorfields, whilst being the principal investigator for key international clinical trials, Mr Addison has become vastly experienced and can help patients select the best treatment for their eye disease from the full range of options.

      In recognition of his outstanding contribution to eye care throughout his career, Mr Addison has received NHS Clinical Excellence Awards every year that they have been awarded competitively since 2017.
