Stephanie is a UKCP registered Psychotherapist who qualified from Guys Medical School in 2000, and completed her Masters in Adolescent psychotherapy at the Tavistock & Portman NHS 2013. She is a clinical Tutor with South London & Maudsley CAT Psychotherapy training course. She works at Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust where she is currently completing her Clinical Teacher Training within the GSTT  teaching faculty.

She has extensive experience working with mental health, having initially qualified in 1993 as a state registered Occupational Therapist working in acute mental health and forensic psychiatry at the Maudsley & Bethlem hospitals. She has 30 years experience in the NHS in integrated physical and mental health, and has particular expertise in the field of diabetes where she is passionate about supporting people to live well with diabetes.

Stephanie uses an approach called Cognitive Analytic Therapy which is a programme of therapy that is tailored to a person’s individual needs and to their own manageable goals for change, and used in a number of diabetes centres for those experiencing  emotional difficulties with diabetes including  diabetes distress and burnout, depression and anxiety, and disordered eating including diabulimia. The aim of therapy is to address unhelpful coping strategies, reduce distress and improve diabetes self-management.

She is passionate about preventative healthcare, and has participated in Kings Healthcare Partners research programme, delivering group interventions to individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes. She has participated in joint events with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)  to promote ‘Living well with T1 Diabetes’ events, and trains Peer Supporters to facilitate T1 Peer Support groups. She provides support with managing pump therapy and diabetes tech.

Stephanie works with individuals, couples and young people, and will work collaboratively with you to explore and make sense of your current difficulties, supporting you to find new ways of managing distress and working towards achieving your goals,
